2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification – UEFA Group C
The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group C was one of the ten UEFA groups in the World Cup qualification tournament to decide which teams would qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals tournament in Qatar. Group C consisted of five teams: the Bulgaria national football team, the Italy national football team, the Lithuania national football team, the Northern Ireland national football team and the Switzerland national football team. The teams played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The group winners, Switzerland, qualified directly for the World Cup finals, while the runners-up, Italy, advanced to the second round (play-offs). The European section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification acted as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams that are members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Status of Russia On 9 December 2019, the World Anti-Doping Agency initially handed Russia a four-year ban from all major international sporting events, after RUSADA was found non-compliant for handing over manipulated lab data to investigators. Stadio Ennio Tardini, commonly referred to as just Il Tardini, is a football stadium in Parma, Italy, located near the centre of Parma, between the town centre and the city walls. The term "behind closed doors" is used in several sports, to describe matches played where spectators are not allowed in the stadium to watch.
