2022 FIBA U16 European Championship
The 2022 FIBA U16 European Championship was the 34th edition of the European basketball championship for national under-16 teams. It was played from 12 to 20 August 2022 in Skopje, North Macedonia. Lithuania men's national under-16 basketball team won the tournament and became the European champions for the second time. Skopje
Skopje ( , , ; mk, Скопје ; sq, Shkup) is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. It is the country's political, cultural, economic, and academic centre. The territory of Skopje has been inhabited since at least 4000 BC; remains of Neolithic settlements have been found within the old Kale Fortress that overlooks the modern city centre. Neoklis Avdalas ( Greek: Νεοκλής Αβδάλας; born February 4, 2006) is a Greek professional basketball player for Karditsa of the Greek Basket League, on loan from Panathinaikos. Standing at 2.00 m (6'7") tall, he can play at the point guard and shooting guard positions. The youngest son of former basketball player, Dimitris Avdalas, he is considered to be a top prospect for the 2025 NBA Draft. Professional career Avdalas began his professional career in 2021 with Panathinaikos, under coaches Dimitrios Priftis and Georgios Vovoras.
