The 2022 FAO League will be the eleventh season of the FAO League, the top Odia professional football league, since its establishment in 2010. Sports Hostel are the defending champions. FAO League is annually organised by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), the official football governing body of Odisha, in association with Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, the FAO League had not been organised since its last edition in 2019. After a span of two years, the regular season kicked-off from 3 July 2022. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Bhabani Shankar Chayani, Collector & District Magistrate, Cuttack, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, alongside Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, President, Odisha Cricket Association, as the Guest of Honour. FAO League
The Football Association of Odisha League is the top state football league of the Indian state of Odisha, organised by Football Association of Odisha (FAO) in association with Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha. History The major domestic league in the state held at Cuttack was known as Cuttack Football League until 2010 when FAO decided to restructure the league as FAO league. It continues as the top tier competition for Cuttack based football clubs. The FAO League was brought up as ''Siddhartha Odisha First Division League'' in 2010 as Odisha's premier level football league. Football Association of Odisha introduced league system to provide footballing talents of the state a platform to showcase their abilities. Odisha Cricket Association (abbreviated OCA) is the governing body of the Cricket activities in the Odisha state of India and the Odisha cricket team. I-League 3, or 3rd Division League, is a men's professional football league in India. It forms the fourth tier of the Indian football league system, below the I-League 2 and above the State leagues. 2022 FAO Super Cup
The 2022 FAO Super Cup will be the second edition of the FAO Super Cup, the main club knockout football competition of Odisha, India. The competition will start on 11 September 2022 and end on 18 September 2022. The entire tournament is scheduled to take place at one venue i.e. the CRRI Ground in Cuttack. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, the Super Cup hasn't been organised since 2018, and hence this edition will only be the second edition of the Super Cup, after its inaugural 2018 edition. The competition features teams from the Silver, Gold and Diamond competitions of the FAO League, the premier state level football league in Odisha, India.
