2022 Energy X-Prix
The 2022 Energy X-Prix (formally the 2022 Uruguay Natural Energy X-Prix) was an Extreme E off-road race that was held on 26 and 27 November 2022 near José Ignacio, Maldonado Department, Uruguay, about 25 km east of the seaside city of Punta del Este. It was the fifth and final round of the electric off-road racing car series' second season, and also marked the first running of the event. Abt Cupra XE won its first X-Prix with Nasser Al-Attiyah and Klara Andersson. They were followed by Neom McLaren Extreme E, who visited the podium for the first time, and X44 Vida Carbon Racing's Sébastien Loeb and Cristina Gutiérrez. This third place, combined with the 5 extra Super Sector points, granted Lewis Hamilton's team both the drivers' and the teams' titles ahead of reigning champions Rosberg X Racing. 2022 Extreme E Championship
The 2022 Extreme E Championship was the second season of the Extreme E electric off-road racing series. Calendar On 24 September 2021, a provisional five-round calendar was revealed, which included a return to Saudi Arabia for the season opener in February, an African event, a second Arctic X-Prix in Greenland or Iceland, and two trips to South America. A further update was announced on 22 December 2021. Saudi Arabia and Sardinia return from the previous year, with new events to be held in Chile, Uruguay and either Scotland or Senegal. The latter was later cancelled on 8 April due to financial issues, with Sardinia postponed until July and now set to host two events. Extreme E
Extreme E is an FIA-sanctioned international off-road racing series that uses spec silhouette electric SUVs to race in remote parts of the world, such as the Saudi Arabian desert or the Arctic. All racing locations are chosen to raise awareness for some aspects of climate change and Extreme E maintains a "Legacy Programme" which intends to provide social and environmental support for those locations. The series also promotes gender equality in motorsport by mandating that all teams consist of a female and a male driver who share equal driving duties. The first season began with the Desert X-Prix in Saudi Arabia in April 2021. Team X44 is the defending champion. Andretti Autosport is an auto racing team that competes in the IndyCar Series, Indy Lights, Indy Pro 2000, and Formula E. The team also has a 37.5% ownership stake in the Australian Supercars Championship touring car team, Walkinshaw Andretti United and a stake in the Extreme E team, Andretti United.
