2022 Dutch Darts Championship
The 2022 Jack's Dutch Darts Championship was the eighth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2022 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the IJsselhallen, Zwolle, Netherlands, from 27–29 May 2022. It features a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Ian White was the defending champion after defeating Ricky Evans 8–5 in the 2018 final, but he failed to qualify for the tournament. Michael Smith won the tournament, his fifth European Tour title and first since 2017, with an 8–7 win over Danny Noppert. Michael Smith (darts Player)
Michael Smith (born 18 September 1990) is an English professional darts player. Nicknamed "Bully Boy", he plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is the reigning World Champion and World No. 1, having won the 2023 World Championship. He was the 2013 PDC Under-21 World Champion and has since won 17 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Ritchie Edhouse
Ritchie Edhouse (born 19 April 1983) is a professional English darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. He reached the last 32 of the 2015 BDO World Trophy, and won a PDC Challenge Tour event in 2016, before gaining a PDC Tour Card in 2017. Jim Williams (darts Player)
Jim Williams (born 27 July 1984) is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career Williams first ever rose to prominence in October 2012 at the Winmau World Masters in Hull. There he beat four players in the preliminary rounds to reach the main stage, most notably defeating reigning Lakeside World Champion Christian Kist 3–2 in his final match. Once on stage, he beat established campaigners Jan Dekker 3–1 and Ross Montgomery 3–2 to reach the quarter-finals, before losing out to eventual champion Stephen Bunting by 3 sets to 1. Chris Dobey
Chris Dobey (born 31 May 1990) is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career His first major TV appearance came in the 2015 UK Open where he lost 5–1 in the first round to Nathan Aspinall. At the 11th Players Championship of the year he had deciding leg victories over Jan Dekker, Kim Huybrechts and Max Hopp to reach the last 16 of a PDC event for the first time, where he was defeated 6–2 by Mark Webster. Dobey qualified for the 2015 World Series of Darts Finals and lost in a last leg decider to Terry Jenkins. Luke Humphries
Luke Humphries (born 11 February 1995) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship. Career Humphries won five PDC Development Tour titles in 2017, finishing top of the Development Tour Order of Merit. As a result of this, he qualified for the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship where he lost to Jeff Smith, and received a PDC Tour Card for the 2018 and 2019 season. 2019 He also won the Development Tour Order of Merit in 2019, a year which culminated in a fantastic run at the 2019 World Championship for Humphries. PDC Order Of Merit
The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. How it works The Order of Merit is similar to that employed in golf's European Tour. Prize money won during the previous two seasons is calculated and the rankings are determined from this money list. The Professional Darts Corporation adopted an Order of Merit system in 2007, which is based on prize money won over two years for the main Order of Merit and separate one-year rankings for other PDC Pro Tour events. Danny Noppert (born 31 December 1990) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a former BDO World Darts Championship finalist, as well as being a Finder Darts Masters champion in 2017, before switching to the PDC in 2018, where he won the 2022 UK Open. Career BDO In 2013, Noppert reached the televised stages of the Winmau World Masters. 2018 Dutch Darts Championship
The 2018 Dutch Darts Championship was the eleventh of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2018 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the MECC Maastricht, Maastricht, Netherlands from 7–9 September 2018. It featured a field of 48 players and £135,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Ricky Evans (darts Player)
Ricky Evans (born 29 July 1990) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career From 2007 to 2012 Evans attempted to qualify for each BDO World Championship but was unsuccessful. In 2011, Evans won a PDC Youth Tour event by beating David Coyne 4–1 in the final. He has played in the World Masters five times with his best finish coming in 2012 where he lost in the last 48 to James Wilson. In 2013, Evans played in the Qualifying School to earn a tour card for the Professional Darts Corporation events and succeeded on the first day.
