2022 Clemson Tigers Men's Soccer Team
The 2022 Clemson Tigers men's soccer team represented Clemson University during the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. They were led by head coach Mike Noonan, in his thirteenth season. They played their home games at Riggs Field. This was the team's 62nd season playing organized men's college soccer and their 35th playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers finished the season 13–7–1 overall and 3–4–1 in ACC play to finish in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. As the eighth overall seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Notre Dame in the First Round, top seed Duke in the Quarterfinals, fourth seed Wake Forest in the Semifinals and became the lowest seed to reach the final in ACC Tournament history. Mike Noonan
Michael Noonan (June 30, 1961) is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the American Indoor Soccer Association and is currently the head coach of the Clemson University men's soccer team. Playing career Noonan attended Middlebury College, playing on the men's soccer team from 1979 to 1982. He was a 1981 and 1982 Division III NCAA First Team All American. Noonan played for the Louisville Thunder in the American Indoor Soccer Association. In 1986, he signed with the Fort Wayne Flames where he spent two seasons. In 2017, Noonan was inducted into the Middlebury College Athletics Hall of Fame for his playing time there. Coaching career In 1989, Noonan was hired as head coach of the Wheaton College men's soccer team. The team had a 4–11–0 record his first season, but he took them to a 12–5–1 record his second season. Oskar Ågren
Oskar Ågren (born 28 April 2000) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Colorado Springs Switchbacks on loan from Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes. 2022 MLS SuperDraft
The 2022 MLS SuperDraft was the 23rd edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held every January prior to the start of the MLS season and has been conducted via conference calls since 2020. Previously, the SuperDraft had been held in conjunction with the annual January United Soccer Coaches convention. Since 2021, the SuperDraft consists of three rounds. Teams that received fourth-round picks for this draft via past trades received compensatory picks instead. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. 2021 Oregon State Beavers Men's Soccer Team
The Oregon State Beavers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Oregon State University and competes in the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team was founded in 1988 and has competed in 26 college soccer seasons since that time. The Beavers qualified for the NCAA tournament on six occasions, making their deepest run in the tournament in 2021 where they reached the quarterfinals. The team has produced one Hermann Trophy winner, five NSCAA All-Americans and has had five players play for their respective national teams at the senior level.
