2022 Cebu City Local Elections
Local elections were held in Cebu City on May 9, 2022 within the Philippine general election. Registered voters of the city will be electing candidates for the following elective local posts: mayor, vice mayor, district representative, and eight councilors at-large for each district. There are two legislative districts in the city. Background Prior to his death on November 19, 2021, then mayor Edgardo Labella chose not to seek re-election in 2022, paving the way for then vice mayor Michael Rama to seek a return to his old post as mayor. Rama, who previously served as mayor from 2010 to 2016, teamed up with incumbent city councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia as his candidate for vice mayor whom he competed against for the position of vice mayor in 2007 but has since become allies when the latter's political party KUSUG endorsed Rama's re-election in 2013. Mike Rama
Michael Lopez Rama (born October 28, 1954) is a Filipino politician serving as Mayor of Cebu City since 2021, a position he previously held from 2010 to 2016. He served as the Vice Mayor of Cebu City from 2001 to 2010 and from 2019 to 2021, and was a member of the Cebu City Council from 1992 to 2001. He was elected the National President of the League of Cities of the Philippines in 2022. Education Mike Rama graduated as valedictorian, Basak Elementary School, Basak San Nicolas in Cebu City. Partido Para Sa Demokratikong Reporma
The Partido para sa Demokratikong Reporma ( en, Party for Democratic Reform; PDR), commonly known as Partido Reporma, is a political party in the Philippines. History It was founded by former Defense Secretary Renato de Villa when he left the ruling Lakas-NUCD after failing to get the nomination as the party's presidential candidate in the 1998 elections. He chose then Pangasinan governor Oscar Orbos as his running mate. The Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino () is a centre-right political party in the Philippines. There are no results available for the 2004 election for the House of Representatives, but according to the website of the House, the party held 7 out of 235 seats. Bando Osmeña – Pundok Kauswagan (), commonly known as BO–PK or BOPK, is a local political party based in Cebu City, Philippines. It is a political party run by the Osmeña family of Cebu since 1987 when Tomas Osmeña first ran for mayor of Cebu City.
