The 2022 California Golden Bears baseball team represents the University of California, Berkeley in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Golden Bears play their home games at Evans Diamond as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They are led by head coach Mike Neu, in his 5th season at Cal. Previous season The Golden Bears finished with a record of 29–26, and 15–15 in conference play. The Golden Bears were not selected to compete in the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Mike Neu (baseball)
Michael David Neu (born March 9, 1978) is a former pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2003 to 2004, and is the current head baseball coach of the California Golden Bears. Neu played college baseball at the University of Miami for coach Jim Morris from 1997 to 1999. He served as the head coach for the Pacific Tigers in 2016 and 2017. Early life and college career Raised in Napa, California, Neu attended Vintage High School where he set Monticello Empire League records for career wins (21) and strikeouts (196). As a senior in 1996, he was first-team All-State, All-Region and MEL Player of the Year with a 10-1 record, a 0.64 ERA and 121 strikeouts in 77.0 innings. Neu was also MEL Player of the Year as a junior. Neu earned a master's degree in Physical Education from Ball State University in 2011. Moraga is a town in Contra Costa County, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The town is named in honor of Joaquín Moraga, member of the famed Californio family. As of 2020, Moraga had a total population of 16,870 people. Moraga is the home of Saint Mary's College of California. The 2022 Arizona State Sun Devils baseball team represented Arizona State University during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Sun Devils played their home games at Phoenix Municipal Stadium as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They were led by head coach Willie Bloomquist, in his 1st season at ASU. Previous season The Sun Devils finished with a record of 33–22, and 16–14 in conference play. 2022 Oregon State Beavers Baseball Team
The 2022 Oregon State Beavers baseball team represented Oregon State University in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Beavers played their home games at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field as members of the Pac-12 Conference. The team was coached by Mitch Canham in his third season at Oregon State. Preseason The Beavers entered the season ranked in the Top-25 by four major poll organizations and were picked to finish second in the Pac-12 preseason coaches poll. Pac-12 tournament Oregon State finished second in the final regular season conference standing and earned the #2 seed in the inaugural Pac-12 baseball tournament.
