2022 Belgian Cup Final
The 2022 Belgian Cup Final, named Croky Cup after the sponsor, was the 67th Belgian Cup final. On 2 March 2022, Gent qualified for their 6th final, losing 2 and winning 3. Anderlecht qualified one day later, reaching their fourteenth final, having won nine times before, the last time of which occurred in 2008, when they also faced Gent in the 2008 Belgian Cup Final. After a tense 0–0 draw after extra time, Gent won 4–3 on penalties. Route to the final Pre-match From a personnel perspective, both clubs seemingly started in full force, as they saw several players return from injury just in time for the final. 2021–22 Belgian Cup
The 2021–22 Belgian Cup, called the Croky Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 67th season of Belgium's annual football cup competition. The competition began on 25 July 2021 and ended with the final on 18 April 2022. The winners of the competition qualified for the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League play-off round. Competition format The competition consists of one preliminary round, followed by ten proper rounds. All rounds were single-match elimination rounds, with the exception of the semi-finals which are again held over two legs. When tied after 90 minutes in the first three rounds, penalties were taken immediately. From round four, when tied after 90 minutes first an extra time period of 30 minutes was played, then penalties were taken if still necessary. Tarik Tissoudali (; born 2 April 1993) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a winger for Gent, in the Belgian First Division. Club career Early career Born in Asse, Kums began his career at Dilbeek Sport, before joining Anderlecht in 1996. The 2021–22 Belgian First Division A (officially known as Jupiler Pro League due to sponsorship reasons) was the 119th season of top-tier football in Belgium. Team changes On the final matchday of the previous season, Royal Excel Mouscron was overtaken by Waasland-Beveren, pushing them into a direct relegation spot and thus causing the Mouscron team to return to the second level after six seasons. Waasland-Beveren would eventually face the same fate as a few weeks later they lost the Relegation play-off against Seraing, ending a span of nearly a decade at the top level. Julien Ariel De Sart (born 23 December 1994) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Gent. He began his career in the youth academy of Standard Liège. De Sart went on to sign his first professional contract with the club's senior team in 2013, making his debut in that same year. The 2021–22 season of the Belgian First Division B began in August 2021 and ended in April 2022, with Westerlo winning the title by a considerable margin over RWDM, the latter losing the promotion play-off and hence not promoted together with Westerlo. Lommel () is a municipality and a city in the Belgian province of Limburg. The Kempen city has about 34,000 inhabitants and is part of the electoral district and the judicial district Lommel Neerpelt. Benito Raman (born 7 November 1994) is Belgian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Belgian club Anderlecht. Career Youth At the age of 4 he started playing football at Cercle Melle.
