2022 Africa Beach Soccer Cup Of Nations
The 2022 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations was the fifth edition of the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations (BSAFCON), the premier beach soccer championship in Africa contested by men's national teams who are members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The championship was originally organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) under the title of ''FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup CAF qualifier'' (also informally known as the CAF Beach Soccer Championship). In 2015, CAF became its organisers and began using the BSAFCON title to which the competition was officially renamed the next year. Therefore, this was the 11th edition of the event overall. The tournament takes place in Mozambique, which was confirmed as the host nation on 16 May 2021; the city of Vilankulo stages all matches between 21 and 28 October 2022. Vilankulo
Vilankulo (or Vilanculos) is a coastal town in Mozambique, lying in the Vilankulo District, Vilanculos District of Inhambane Province. Vilankulo is named after local tribal chief Gamela Vilankulo Mukoke, and some of the "bairros" (suburbs) are named after his sons. Known as ''Vilanculos'' during colonial times, the name was changed to ''Vilankulo'' at independence. Today the district is called ''Vilanculos'' and the town ''Vilankulo''. 2013 CAF Beach Soccer Championship
The 2013 CAF Beach Soccer Championship took place from 22 May to 26 May 2013, in El Jadida, Morocco, for the first time. It is the second time in Morocco, following Casablanca hosting the previous qualification tournament in 2011. It was originally scheduled for 10–14 April and then for 29 May - 2 June 2013. 2015 CAF Beach Soccer Championship
The 2015 CAF Beach Soccer Championship, also known as the 2015 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations, was a beach soccer tournament which took place in Roche Caiman, Seychelles on 14–19 April 2015. This was the first time that the CAF Beach Soccer Championship was held in Seychelles. All matches were played at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex. As well as crowning the best beach soccer nation in Africa, the tournament served as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier for teams from Africa which are members of CAF, where the top two teams qualified for the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal. BSWW Beach Soccer Rankings
The BSWW World Ranking is a ranking system for men's national teams in beach soccer, calculated by the sport's developmental body, Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW). The rankings are currently led by Russia who have held the number one spot since August 2021. The teams (both member nations of FIFA – the sport's governing body – and non-members) are ranked using a "points-per-event system", whereby the ranking of the team in the final standings of each event they participate in awards that team a certain number of points; the teams that accumulate the most points are ranked highest. The rankings were introduced in February 2014 and are updated monthly; three teams (Russia, Portugal and Brazil) have held the top position, of which Brazil have spent the longest ranked first.
