2022 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2022 AFF Futsal Championship was the 17th edition of the AFF Futsal Championship, organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) in the sport of futsal. The tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The top three finishing teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Kuwait as AFF's representatives. Thailand won the tournament for the ninth time in a row after winning the final 5–3 in the penalty shootout against Indonesia. Entrants There was no qualification, and all entrants advanced to the final tournament. The following 9 teams from member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation entered the tournament. Brunei came back for this tournament after 4 years of absence since their last appearance in 2018 AFF Futsal Championship. Venue All matches are held in Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok. 2003 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2003 AFF Futsal Championship was held in Kuantan, Malaysia from 1 to 6 July 2003. Cambodia were the original hosts for this edition of the tournament but were unable to get their venue ready in time. Subsequently, the ASEAN Football Federation requested Malaysia to take over as hosts. The 2010 AFF Futsal Championship was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 5 to 11 April 2010. Defending champions Thailand did not take part at this tournament as they opted to play in the Thai 5s which was being held around the same time in Udon Thani. The 2017 AFF Futsal Championship will be the 14th edition of the tournament. The tournament will be second AFF Futsal Championship to be held in 2017, with the first one originally meant to be hosted in 2016 to be held in early 2017. The tournament served as qualifiers for the 2018 AFC Futsal Championship. Draw The draw was held on 17 February 2017 during the AFF Council Meeting at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. 2016 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2016 AFF Futsal Championship is the 13th edition of the tournament which been held from 23 January 2017 to 29 January 2017. It was initially planned to be held from 31 October to 6 November 2016. Following the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Football Association of Thailand postponed to host the 2016 AFF Futsal Championship. Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) offered to host 2016 AFF Futsal Championship after Thailand postponed. The event was rescheduled to 9 – 15 November 2016. On 21 October 2016, AFF officially announced that the event will be cancelled due to the withdrawing from being the host of PSSI. AFF asked Singapore to be the new host but they were unable to operate the event in short time of the preparation. 2015 AFF Futsal Championship
The 2015 AFF Futsal Championship was the 12th edition of the tournament which was held in Thailand from 8 to 16 October 2015. This edition will also act as a 2016 AFC Futsal Championship qualification, qualification tournament for the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship. A statement in June stated that Thailand national futsal team, Thailand and Australia national futsal team, Australia were already assured of qualification to the 2016 AFC Championship, due to their positioning in the previous (2014) edition. The 2012 AFF Futsal Championship was the ninth edition of the tournament which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19 April to 27 April 2012. It was originally scheduled for the 17 to 27 April but was moved back by two days at the request of the Timor-Leste Football Federation due to the majority of their players coming from the Police Force who are required to vote in the local elections, and would not be able to leave the country without doing so.
