2021–22 Süper Lig
The 2021–22 Süper Lig, officially called the Spor Toto Süper Lig Ahmet Çalık season, is the 64th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier football league of Turkey. Teams A total of 20 teams contest the league, including 17 sides from the 2020–21 season and 2020–21 TFF First League champions Adana Demirspor, runner-ups Giresunspor and play-off winners Altay. Adana Demirspor returned top level after 26 years, Giresunspor returned after 44 years and Altay after 18 years. For the first time in 40 years, there is no team from the capital city, Ankara. The bottom four teams will be relegated to the 2022–23 TFF First League. Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), officially known as Spor Toto Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. In the 2022–23 season, nineteen clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted from, and relegated to the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. The competition was initially established in 1923. The league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 20th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Yeni Malatyaspor
Yeni Malatyaspor Kulübü is a Turkish professional football club based in Malatya. The club plays in the TFF First League, which is the second tier of football in the country. History Founded in 1986 as Malatya Belediyespor. Its primary colors are yellow, black, and red, although they originally wore orange and green. In 2022, the club's chairman Adil Gevrek resigned from his position, the same season the club guaranteed its relegation to the TFF First League. Goalkeeper Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan was killed by rubble from a collapsed building in the aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake on February 6. Sivasspor Kulübü, known as Demir Grup Sivasspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish sports club based in Sivas. The primary department of the club is men's football. Formed in 1967, its football department competes in Süper Lig, as of 2017–18 season. They contended for the Süper Lig title for two consecutive seasons ( 2007–08 and 2008–09), ultimately finishing fourth and second respectively. The TFF 1. Lig, officially known as Spor Toto 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called ''Türk Telekom Lig A'' in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to ''TFF First League'' prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1.
