2021–22 North Carolina Tar Heels Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tar Heels were led by head coach Courtney Banghart, who was in her third season as head coach. She was assisted by Joanne Aluka-White, Adrian Walters, and former Clemson head coach Itoro Coleman. The Tar Heels played their home games at Carmichael Arena as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tar Heels finished the season 25–7 overall and 13–5 in ACC play, to finish in a three way tie for third place. Courtney Banghart
Courtney Rosholt Banghart (born May 11, 1978) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head women's basketball coach at North Carolina. Prior to North Carolina, she served as head coach at Princeton from 2007 to 2019. Playing career Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Banghart graduated from Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire and Dartmouth College also in New Hampshire. As a guard, Banghart played for Dartmouth from 1996 to 2000, including the Dartmouth teams that won the 1999 and 2000 Ivy League titles. She holds Dartmouth records for 3 pointers in a game, season, and career. Coaching career From 2000 to 2003, Banghart was athletic director and head coach of the girls' basketball and girls' tennis teams at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. The 2020–21 Wake Forest Demon Deacons women's basketball team represented Wake Forest University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Demon Deacons, were led by ninth year head coach Jen Hoover, are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference and played their home games at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Demon Deacons finished the season 12–13 and 8–10 in ACC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. Stephanie Courtney Watts (born April 12, 1997) is an American professional basketball player. She played briefly for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball team represents the University of Oklahoma (OU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. History OU women's basketball began during the 1974–75 academic year.
