2021–22 KK Crvena Zvezda Season
The 2021–22 KK Crvena zvezda season was the 77th season in the existence of the club. For the season it's referred to as KK Crvena zvezda mts for sponsorship reasons. The club won three titles in the season (ABA League, Serbian League, and Serbian Cup), defending all three titles from the previous season. Overview Pre-season At the end of previous season, contracts expired with four players: Marko Jagodić-Kuridža, Jordan Loyd, Landry Nnoko and Duop Reath. All four of them left the club during the summer. On 29 May 2021, Serbian guard Filip Čović, who spent last season on a loan at KK FMP, FMP, decided to retire at the age of 31. This marked the end of his second spell with Crvena zvezda. 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments – Belgrade
The 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade was one of four 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. The tournament was held in Belgrade, Serbia. It was originally scheduled to take place from 23 to 28 June 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 29 June to 4 July 2021. Following the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, it was the second consecutive men's Olympic qualifying tournament held in Belgrade, Serbia. Teams New Zealand initially qualified for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament by virtue of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. On 26 February 2021, Basketball New Zealand announced that they would pull out of the tournament. Igor Stefan Kokoškov ( sr-Cyrl, Игор Стефан Кокошков; born December 17, 1971) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He had spent 19 years in the NBA as an assistant coach, with a brief stint as head coach for the Phoenix Suns for a full season. He spent a season in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, before returning to the NBA to become an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks in 2021. The ABA League Supercup, also credited as ABA Super Cup, is an annual men's professional basketball supercup competition between teams from the ABA League. It is run by the ABA League JTD. It is a regional competition, that is contested between teams from six countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Adriatic League
The ABA League, renamed to the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the 1st-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. Filip Čović ( sr-cyr, Филип Човић; born 5 June 1989) is a Serbian professional basketball executive and former player who is a director for FMP of the Basketball League of Serbia and the ABA League. Professional career A product of the FMP's youth system, Čović spent the first five years of his career playing for their senior side, and a further year and a half playing for Crvena zvezda. Duop Thomas Reath (born 26 June 1996) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the LSU Tigers. Reath was part of the Australian Basketball team that won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Landry Chirst Nnoko (born April 9, 1994) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player for Suwon KT Sonicboom of the Korean Basketball League. College career After coming to the U.S. to play high school basketball at Montverde Academy, Nnoko committed to Clemson for college.
