2021–22 I Liga
The 2021–22 I liga (also known as Fortuna I liga due to sponsorship reasons) is the 74th season of Sports league, the second tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949 and the 14th season of the Polish I liga under its current title. The league is operated by the Polish Football Association, PZPN. The regular season is being played as a round-robin tournament. A total of 18 teams participate, 14 of which competed in the league campaign during the 2020–21 I liga, previous season, while one to be relegated from the 2020–21 Ekstraklasa and the remaining three to be promoted from the 2020–21 II liga. The season started on 30 July 2021 and will conclude on 22 May 2022. Each team will play a total of 34 matches, half at home and half away. I Liga
I liga ( pl, Pierwsza liga, ), currently named Fortuna I liga due to its sponsorship by Fortuna, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems. Run by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) since its inception on 30 May 1948. The league was renamed from Second League (II liga) to First League (I liga) in 2008. It is currently contested by 18 teams, from 2002 all clubs onwards must have a licence, issued by the Association.. GKS Bełchatów
GKS Bełchatów is a Polish professional football club based in Bełchatów that currently plays in the IV liga. History GKS Bełchatów entered Poland's Klasa A in 1977 under the name of Węgiel Brunatny Bełchatów, and gained promotion to the III liga in the 1981–82 season. It took the club another seven years to rise to the II liga (1986/1987 season), before winning a place in the top-tier I liga in 1992. After another spell in II liga, the club again won promotion to the I liga at the end of the 2004–05 season. The club finished the 2005–06 season in 10th place, with 37 points. The following season they challenged for the league title. After spending much of the latter part of the 2006–07 season in first place, they were ultimately overtaken by Zagłębie Lubin and had to settle for second place. Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza Klub Sportowy Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, is a professional Polish football club based in Nieciecza, Poland. Radomiak Spółka Akcyjna (''Radomiak S.A.''), commonly known as Radomiak Radom, is a Polish football (soccer), football club based in Radom, Poland. The 2021–22 Ekstraklasa (also known as PKO Ekstraklasa due to sponsorship reasons) was the 96th season of the Polish Football Championship, the 88th season of the highest tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1927 and the 14th season of the Ekstraklasa under its current title. The league is operated by the Ekstraklasa S.A. The regular season was played as a round-robin tournament. A total of 18 teams participated, 15 of which competed in the league campaign during the previous season, while the remaining three were promoted from the 2020–21 I liga. The season started on 23 July 2021 and concluded on 21 May 2022. Each team played a total of 34 matches, half at home and half away. Skra Częstochowa is a Polish football club based in Częstochowa, Poland. The club will compete in II liga, having suffered relegation in 2023. History The club was founded in 1926. In 1946, Skra became the champion of the Częstochowa district, which was why it was promoted to the Polish championships played in the cup system. In the Round of 16, the team lost 3-5 to Tęcza Kielce. In the 1947 season, Skra continued to play in the central games in the fight for the title of Polish Champion and qualification for the League in the 1948 season. GKS Katowice (; GKS stands for , "Miners Sporting Club") is a Polish football club based in Katowice, Poland. The club currently plays in the I liga, after having won promotion in 2021. History In 1963 in Katowice a special organizational committee was called with the purpose of uniting all the clubs and sporting organizations of the city into one large club which would encompass many disciplines. History The club was essentially founded on 11 July 1997, although it can trace its roots back to 1907. 2020–21 II Liga
The 2020–21 II liga was the 73rd season of the third tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1948 and the 13th season of the Polish II liga under its current title. The league was operated by the PZPN. The league was contested by 19 teams. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. The season started on 28 August 2020 and concluded on 12 June 2021 (regular season). Each team played a total of 36 matches, half at home and half away. After the 18th matchday the league went on a winter break between 17 December 2020 and 26 February 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 120 matches have been played with a limited number of spectators. The rest of the matches (until 17 October 2020 and on 16 May 2021) were played behind closed doors without any spectators.
