2021–22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team represented the Georgia Institute of Technology during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. They were led by third-year head coach Nell Fortner and played their home games at McCamish Pavilion as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Yellow Jackets finished the season 21–11 overall and 11–7 in ACC play to finish in sixth place. As the sixth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated Wake Forest in the second round before losing to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they were the ninth seed in the Spokane Regional. They lost their First Round match-up against Kansas to end their season. Nell Fortner
Nell Fortner (born March 3, 1959) is the current women's college basketball coach at Georgia Tech. She is most well known for leading the 2000 Olympics team to a gold medal. She has received numerous awards including the 1997 National Coach of the Year, the 2000 USA Basketball Coach of the Year and the 2008 SEC Coach of the Year. In April 2018, she was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Fortner served as a TV analyst for ESPN from 2001-2004 before returning as the head women's basketball coach at Auburn University. In 2013, she returned to ESPN as a TV analyst. In 2019, she was hired as the women's basketball coach at Georgia Tech. 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 39th edition of the tournament began on March 21, 2021, in sites around San Antonio, Texas, and concluded with the championship game on April 4 at the Alamodome, with the Stanford Cardinal defeating the Arizona Wildcats 54–53 to win their third NCAA title. Due to logistical considerations surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic (which resulted in the cancellation of the 2020 tournament), and mirroring a similar decision by the men's tournament, the entire tournament was played in the San Antonio area rather than at sites across the country, with some first and second round games played in nearby San Marcos and Austin. Wilson High School (South Carolina)
Wilson High School is one of three high schools in Florence Public School District One in Florence, South Carolina, United States. It is the only high school in Florence County that offers the International Baccalaureate diploma. History Wilson School was Florence's first public school for children of any race. Opened on this site by the Freedmen’s Bureau in 1866, it was incorporated two years later into South Carolina’s first system of free public education. Ādaži () (formerly german: Neuermühlen) is a town in Pierīga, on the left bank of the Gauja river. Town is administrative center of Ādaži Municipality. The Syracuse Orange women's basketball program is an intercollegiate women's basketball team representing Syracuse University. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I, and the team competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Digna Strautmane (born 18 September 1998) is a Latvian professional basketball player. She played college basketball for Syracuse and Georgia Tech and has played for the Latvian national team. Early life and career Strautmane was born in Riga, Latvia. She played in the junior Latvian leagues before debuting for TTT Riga of the Latvian NBL in the 2014–15 season.
