2021–22 Ford Trophy
The 2021–22 Ford Trophy was the 51st season of The Ford Trophy, the List A cricket tournament that was played in New Zealand. It was the eleventh in a sponsorship deal between New Zealand Cricket and Ford Motor Company. The tournament ran from November 2021 to February 2022. In July 2021, New Zealand Cricket named all the squads for the domestic teams ahead of the 2021–22 season, and confirmed the fixtures in September 2021. Canterbury were the defending champions. Following the completion of matches played on 20 February 2022, Central Districts were the first team to reach the final of the tournament. They were joined by Auckland, who beat Otago in their penultimate group match to secure their berth in the final. In the final, Auckland beat Central Districts by eight wickets to win the tournament. Basin Reserve
The Basin Reserve (commonly known as "The Basin") is a cricket ground in Wellington, New Zealand. It has been used for Test matches, and is the main home ground for the Wellington Firebirds first-class team. The Basin Reserve is the only cricket ground to have New Zealand Historic Place status ( Category II) as it is the oldest Test cricket ground in the country. The ground has been used for events other than cricket, such as concerts, sports events and other social gatherings, but now it is mostly used for cricket, particularly Test matches. On 1 October 2021, Cello Communications, a Wellington-based telecommunications company was appointed as the naming rights partner of the ground, thus the commercial name of the stadium became the Cello Basin Reserve as part of a two-year agreement. Neil Broom
Neil Trevor Broom (born 20 November 1983) is a New Zealand international cricketer. Broom has played domestic cricket for teams including Otago Volts, Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Canterbury. After making his international debut in 2009, Broom was recalled in to the squad in 2017 following a successful domestic season, and made his Test debut. Michael Rippon
Michael James Rippon (born 14 September 1991) is a South African-born cricketer. He current plays international cricket for New Zealand, having previously also played for the Netherlands national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls left-arm unorthodox spin. Christopher Mark Brown (born 27 March 1973), more commonly known as Chris Brown, is a former Cook Islands cricketer, who previously played representative cricket for Auckland at New Zealand domestic level. Born in Rarotonga, Brown's early cricket was played for Auckland under-age teams, and he went on to represent the New Zealand national under-19s in several matches as a right-arm fast bowler.
