2021–22 Federation Cup (Bangladesh)
The 2021–22 Federation Cup was the 33rd edition of the tournament, the main domestic annual top tier clubs football competition in Bangladesh organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The 12 participants were competed in the tournament. The tournament was played from 25 December 2021 to 9 January 2022. Dhaka Abahani are current champions. The club have defeated Rahmatganj MFS by 2–1 on 9 January 2022 to lift the trophy for the twelfth time. Venue All matches was held at BSSS Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Participating teams The following twelve teams will contest in the tournament. Bangladesh Federation Cup
Federation Cup, also known as Bangladesh Federation Cup, is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. Most of the matches are played in the country's main football venue Bangabandhu National Stadium. The winner of the tournament earn the slot of playing qualifying round of AFC Cup. Format A total of 13 teams participate in the final round. Teams are split into 4 groups. Two teams from each group qualify for the knockout rounds. The 2012 Bangladesh Federation Cup was the 25th edition of the association football competition. It was won by Sheikh Russel KC for their first title, defeating Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club 2-1 in extra time. Sheikh Russel KC is a professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League. Muktijoddha Sangsad KC ( bn, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ ক্রীড়া চক্র) is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The club is nicknamed The Freedom Fighters. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country.
