2021–22 FC Rostov Season
The 2021–22 season was FC Rostov's 92nd season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of Russian football. In addition to the domestic league, Rostov participated in this season's editions of the Russian Cup. Season events On 18 May, Rostov announced the signing of Kirill Bozhenov from Khimki on a five-year contract. On 5 June, Rostov announced the signing of Danila Prokhin from Zenit St.Petersburg and then imeditaly loaned him out to Sochi for the season. On 10 June, Rostov announced the permanent signing of Ali Sowe from CSKA Sofia on a contract until 2025 following a successful loan spell. On 11 June, Rostov announced the loan signing of Nikolay Komlichenko from Dynamo Moscow for the season. On 12 June, Rostov announced the signing of Ihor Kalinin from Ural Yekaterinburg on a five-year contract. On 15 July, Kirill Bozhenov returned to Khimki on a season-long loan deal. FC Rostov (russian: link=no, Футбольный клуб Ростов) is a Russian professional football club based in Rostov-on-Don, Rostov Oblast. The club are members of the Russian Premier League, and play at the Rostov Arena. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Club Association suspended the team. History 1930-1989 The club was established on 10 May 1930, and was initially named Selmashstroy (Сельмашстрой). They were renamed Selmash in 1936 and Traktor in 1941. Kirill Viktorovich Bozhenov (russian: Кирилл Викторович Боженов; born 7 December 2000) is a Russian football player who plays for Pari Nizhny Novgorod. FC Volga Ulyanovsk (russian: ФК «Во́лга» Улья́новск) is a professional association football club based in Ulyanovsk, Russia. Al-Ain Saudi Football Club ( ar, نادي العين السعودي) is a Saudi Arabian professional association football club based in Al Atawlah, Al Qara, Al Bahah. Bartolomeu Jacinto Quissanga, known as Bastos (born 23 November 1991), is an Angolan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli. Yury Pavlovich Syomin (russian: Юрий Павлович Сёмин; born 11 May 1947) is a Russian football coach. He has managed FC Lokomotiv Moscow for 4 different stints, for a total of over 23 years.
