2021–22 Czech First League
The 2021–22 Czech First League, known as the FORTUNA:LIGA is the 29th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football for professional clubs since its establishment, in 1993. SK Slavia Prague are the reigning champions. The season has started on 24 July 2021. The first half of the season will have 19 rounds, finishing on 19 December 2021, and the other half will commence on 5 February 2022. The season is expected to end on 14 May 2022 with two extra play-out fixtures on 19 and 22 May 2022. The season format was changed back to be played with 16 clubs, each team will play in the league format home and away matches. The lowest-ranked team will be relegated directly to the second league, the two teams positioned 14th and 15th will play a play-out with two teams from the second league positioned 2nd and 3rd in a home and away format. Czech First League
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Seasons typically run from August to May, most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays with few games played on Fridays. All Fortuna liga clubs qualify for the Czech Cup. The history of the Czech football league began with its reorganization for the 1993–94 season following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and therefore the league became the successor of the Czechoslovak League. Thirty-five clubs have competed in the Fortuna liga since its founding. Sparta Prague has won the title 12 times, the most among Czech clubs. 2020–21 Czech National Football League
The 2020–21 Czech National Football League (known as the ''Fortuna národní liga'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 28th season of the Czech Republic's second tier Association football, football league. The league is being played with 14 clubs due to uneven promotion/relegation with the Czech First League at the end of the previous season. Two matches in the third round of fixtures were postponed due to coronavirus concerns. Eight players from FC Slavoj Vyšehrad, Vyšehrad tested positive, resulting in their match against FC MAS Táborsko, Táborsko having to be played at a later date. Due to players from Vlašim's A, B and junior teams testing positive, their away match against Třinec could not be played on the originally scheduled date either. FK Pardubice is a Czech football club located in the city of Pardubice. It currently plays in the Czech First League. FC Baník Ostrava is a football club from the Silesian part of the city of Ostrava, Czech Republic. Founded in 1922 as ''SK Slezská Ostrava'', Baník has won numerous national and international trophies. History Formation and history to 1937 The club was founded on 8 September 1922 as ''SK Slezská Ostrava'', when 20 activists signed the establishment treaty in the ''U Dubu'' restaurant. The Letná Stadium ( cs, Stadion Letná ), is a association football, football stadium in Prague. It is the home venue of AC Sparta Prague and often hosts the home matches of the Czech Republic national football team. The stadium's capacity is 18,887 seats.
