2021–22 Calgary Flames Season
The 2021–22 Calgary Flames season was the Flames' 42nd season in Calgary, and the 50th season for the Flames' National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 6, 1972. On April 16, 2022, the Flames clinched a playoff berth after the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vegas Golden Knights. On April 21, the Flames clinched the Pacific Division after a 4–2 victory over the Dallas Stars. The Flames beat the Stars in seven games in the First Round of the playoffs. But they were defeated in the Second Round by the Edmonton Oilers, in five games. Pacific Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Pacific Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. It is also one of the two successors of the Smythe Division (the other one was the Northwest Division), though of the current teams, only the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights did not play in the Smythe Division. Due to subsequent realignments, three of the Pacific Division's original teams (the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks) left the division in 1998 but returned in 2013. The division is the only one in the NHL without any Original Six teams. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting closure of the Canada-United States border, all eight teams were transferred into two different divisions for the 2020–21 NHL season. The Calgary Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The team is a member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Flames arrived in Calgary in 1980 after transferring from the city of Atlanta, Georgia, where they were known as the Atlanta Flames from their founding in 1972 until relocation. The 2021–22 season is the 41st season of play, and 42nd year in Calgary ( 2004–05 NHL season was not played). It is the 50th year for the Flames franchise, and including the team's time in Atlanta, the Flames have won over 1,800 regular season games, 12th overall in NHL history. The accesso ShoWare Center is a multi-purpose arena in Kent, Washington, Kent, Washington (state), Washington, United States. Abbotsford Centre
The Abbotsford Centre, formerly Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre, is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The arena was expected to cost $64.7 million. 2021–22 Seattle Kraken Season
The 2021–22 Seattle Kraken season was the inaugural season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. They played their home games at Climate Pledge Arena. The Kraken played their first game on October 12, 2021, against the Vegas Golden Knights, which ended in a 4–3 loss, and played their first home game on October 23, 2021, against the Vancouver Canucks, a 4–2 loss. On October 14, 2021, the Kraken earned their first win in franchise history after defeating the Nashville Predators 4–3. Adam Werner (born May 2, 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Werner was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche, 131st overall, in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
