The 2021 Vancouver International Film Festival, the 40th event in the history of the Vancouver International Film Festival, was held from October 1 to October 11, 2021.Dana Gee"VIFF back in theatres for 40th anniversary festival" ''The Province'', September 8, 2021. The festival opened with the film ''The Electrical Life of Louis Wain'', and closed with the film ''Petite Maman''. 190 films from 51 countries where screened in the festival constituting 113 features, 77 shorts, 80 narrative features and 33 documentary features. Albert Shin
Albert Shin is a Canadian filmmaker, best known for his critically acclaimed Canadian Screen Award-nominated films ''In Her Place'' (2014) and ''Disappearance at Clifton Hill'' (2019). He works frequently with collaborator Igor Drljaca. Early life Shin was born in Canada and raised in Newmarket, Ontario. His parents are of South Korean descent. Kaveh Nabatian is an Iranian-Canadian musician and film director, known as a trumpeter and keyboardist with the Juno Award winning orchestral post-rock band Bell Orchestre. Jean Luc Herbulot (born in 1983 in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo) is a Congolese film director and screenwriter. Biography Herbulot started drawing and writing stories at an early age. His activities included writing, drawing, composing music, working on video games, and graphic design. In 2004, while studying editing as part of his multimedia studies in Paris, he directed his first short movie, titled ''Vierge(s)'', for which he also did the scriptwriting, storyboard, lighting, editing, and DVD release.
