2021 Tour Of Flanders
The 105th edition of the Tour of Flanders classic cycle races, one-day cycling classic took place on 4 April 2021, as the 12th event of the 2021 UCI World Tour. The race began in Antwerp and covered on the way to the finish in Oudenaarde. Teams All nineteen UCI WorldTeams and six UCI Professional Continental, UCI ProTeams participated in the race, of which only , with six riders, did not enter the maximum of seven riders. 2021 UCI World Tour
The 2021 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included twenty-nine road cycling events throughout the 2021 cycling season. The tour started with the opening stage of the UAE Tour on 21 February, and concluded with Il Lombardia on 9 October. Events The 2021 calendar was announced in the autumn of 2020. Cancelled events Due to COVID-19-related logistical concerns raised by teams regarding travel to Australia (including strict quarantine requirements), the Tour Down Under (19–24 January) and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race (31 January) were cancelled. The organisers of the Tour Down Under held a "domestic cycling festival" known as the Santos Festival of Cycling in its place, which featured races in various disciplines (including a National Road Series event). In June, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec (10 September) and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal (12 September) were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Dylan van Baarle (born 21 May 1992) is a Dutch professional road bicycle racing, road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Biography Born in Voorburg, van Baarle resides in Veenendaal, Netherlands. Van Baarle is the son of former road- and trackcyclist, Mario van Baarle, and Renate Greupink-de Haas. Kasper Asgreen (born 8 February 1995) is a Danish cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Asgreen won the 2021 edition of the Tour of Flanders by defeating Mathieu van der Poel in a sprint finish. Early life Asgreen was born in Kolding in the south of Denmark. He competed in dressage up to the age of 14, before joining Kolding Cycling Club. Career Asgreen signed for Danish Continental cycling team in 2016. In the same year, he finished second in the U23 event at the Danish National Time Trial Championships, as well as finishing second in the senior event.
