2021 Tour Of Flanders For Women
The 18th running of the Tour of Flanders for Women, a women's cycling race in Belgium, was held on 4 April 2021, serving as the 5th event of the 2021 UCI Women's World Tour. It was won for the second time by Annemiek van Vleuten, whose first win in this race came a decade prior. 2021 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2021 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that included eighteen road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2021 in women's road cycling, 2021 women's cycling season. It was the sixth edition of the UCI Women's World Tour, the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with 2021 Strade Bianche Women, Strade Bianche on 6 March, and finished with the Ronde van Drenthe on 23 October. Dutch rider Annemiek van Vleuten () became the first rider to win the individual classification for a second time, taking a season-high four overall victories during the season, finishing the season with a tally of 3177 points. Kristen Faulkner (born December 18, 1992) is an American professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team . Her first year cycling professionally, she was also working full-time as an investment associate at Threshold Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. Biography Faulkner was born in Homer, Alaska. She was raised in the Alaskan fishing community along with four siblings. Faulkner graduated from Harvard in 2016 with a B.A in Computer Science, where she competed in varsity rowing. She holds the university's record for fastest 2k indoor rowing time for lightweight women. Career She took up competitive cycling whilst at university, riding in the cycling legs of mixed relay triathlons as an amateur. Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (born 23 August 1995) is a Danish professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career As a junior, she competed at the 2012 UCI Road World Championships and the 2013 UCI Road World Championships. In the 2018 La Course by Le Tour de France she finished in 4th place, with her teammate Ashleigh Moolman taking the final podium place. She also took the mountains classification in this race. After this race she gave her first of what would become several excitable interviews, with this one including advice for any cyclist who has bad legs to have their wisdom teeth removed.
