The 2021 State of the Nation Address was the sixth and final State of the Nation Address delivered by President Rodrigo Duterte. Preparations Various government agencies held meetings to discuss health protocols due to the still prevailing COVID-19 pandemic to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 among attendees of the State of the Nation Address (SONA). Attendees were required to be vaccinated, and undergo a RT-PCR test for COVID-19 two days prior to the speech and submit themselves to a rapid antigen test at the Batasang Pambansa on the day of the SONA itself. Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is a term often used to refer to Filipino migrant workers, people with Filipino citizenship who reside in another country for a limited period of employment. The number of these workers was roughly 1.77 million between April and September 2020. Of these, female workers comprised a larger portion, making up 59.6 percent, or 1.06 million.
