2021 Speedway Grand Prix Qualification
The 2021 Individual Speedway World Championship Grand Prix Qualification was a one off meeting called the Grand Prix Challenge held at Goričan in Croatia. The qualifying rounds were cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic which meant that national federations were asked to nominate a rider for the final. The three riders that qualified for the 2021 Speedway Grand Prix were Matej Žagar, Oliver Berntzon and Krzysztof Kasprzak. Speedway Grand Prix Qualification
The Speedway Grand Prix Challenge or Speedway Grand Prix Qualification is an annual speedway qualifying tournament to determine the qualifiers for the Speedway Grand Prix, which is the World Championship of speedway. History From 1995 the Individual World Championship was replaced by the Grand Prix system. The 17 qualifiers for the 1995 Grand Prix were the top 10 from the 1994 World final, 5 seeds and 2 wildcards. From 1996, the leading riders from each Grand Prix series would automatically qualifying for the following year's event. The remaining places would be filled by the leading riders in the Challenge event and qualifiers from the both the Continental Speedway Final and Intercontinental Final. However, the latter two finals would come to end in 2000 and 2001 respectively. Nick Škorja
Nick Škorja (born 28 July 1998) is a Slovenian motorcycle speedway rider. Career Škorja appeared twice as a track reserve in the 2016 Speedway Grand Prix and once at the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix and 2018 Speedway Grand Prix. He has finished runner-up in the Slovenian Individual Speedway Championship in 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2022. He reached the finals of both the 2018 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and 2019 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. In 2019 he was selected for the Slovenian team for the 2019 Speedway of Nations. Dimitri Bergé (born 5 February 1996) is a French speedway rider. Career International Bergés' major honours include the 2009 125cc Grasstrack and the World 250cc Longtrack Champion 2012. He was World Under-21 finalist in 2016 and 2017 and represented France in the 2018 Speedway of Nations. Broc Nicol (born April 22, 1998) is a speedway rider from the United States. Career Nicol won the United States Championship twice in 2017 and 2020. Kevin Wölbert (born 14 June 1989) is a German speedway rider who has won Individual German Champion title in 2008. Career history When Max Dilger was injured, Wölbert was nominated as second track reserve at the 2008 German Grand Prix. But, after re-staged this event in Bydgoszcz, Poland (as the Final Grand Prix), Wölbert was replaced by Pole Grzegorz Zengota. Due to having Polish roots through his grandmother, Wölbert has been interest of Polish citizenship.
