2021 Southeastern Louisiana Lions Baseball Team
The 2021 Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team represented Southeastern Louisiana University during the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Lions played their home games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field and were led by eighth–year head coach Matt Riser. They were members of the Southland Conference. Matt Riser
Matt Riser is an American baseball coach and former player, who is the current head baseball coach of the Memphis Tigers. He played college baseball at Pearl River Community College and Tulane from 2003–2006. He served as the head coach of the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (2014–2023). He grew up in Picayune, Mississippi, where he played baseball with Major League Baseball player Rhyne Hughes. After a playing career at Pearl River Community College and Tulane and an appearance in the 2005 College World Series, Riser coached for one season as an assistant with the Green Wave under Rick Jones. He then moved to Southeastern Louisiana for six seasons. After head coach Jay Artigues resigned to become athletic director following the 2013 season, Riser was named interim head coach. Centreville, Virginia
Centreville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States and a suburb of Washington, D.C. The population was 73,518 as of the 2020 census. Centreville is approximately west of Washington, D.C. History Colonial period Beginning in the 1760s, the area was known as Newgate due to the popularity of the conveniently located Newgate tavern. Kenner (historically french: Cannes-Brûlées) is a city in Louisiana, United States. It is the largest city in Jefferson Parish, and is the largest incorporated suburban city of New Orleans. The population was 66,448 at the 2020 census. Napoleonville, Louisiana
Napoleonville is a village and the parish seat of Assumption Parish, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 660 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pierre Part Micropolitan Statistical Area. Keller is a city in Tarrant County, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Pearl River, Louisiana
Pearl River is a town in St. Tammany Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 2,506 at the 2010 U.S. census, and 2,618 at the 2020 population estimates program. It is part of the New Orleans– Metairie–Kenner metropolitan statistical area. History The community that is today Pearl River was originally known as Halloo, a moniker it reputedly garnered from loggers yelling to one another as they labored along the nearby Pearl River. Ridgeland, Mississippi
Ridgeland is a city in Madison County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 24,047 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson, Mississippi metropolitan area. History In 1805, the Choctaw Indian Agency, headed by Silas Dinsmoor, was located in what is now known as Ridgeland. There is also a neighborhood called Dinsmor in Ridgeland. The structure was then called Turner Brashear's Stand until about 1850. It was adapted for use as a hotel named the King's Inn.
