2021 South Carolina Gamecocks Baseball Team
The 2021 South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 2021 season marked the Gamecocks' 128th overall. The Gamecocks played their home games at Founders Park, and were led by fourth year head coach Mark Kingston. Thomas Farr threw 8 strikeouts and allow only one run. Freshman relivers Cotto, Phipps, and Mahoney each pitched one scoreless inning. Mark Kingston (baseball)
Mark Kingston (born May 16, 1970) is an American college baseball coach. He is currently the head coach at the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball, University of South Carolina. He was previously the head coach at the South Florida Bulls baseball, University of South Florida and Illinois State Redbirds, Illinois State University. Playing career Kingston played high school baseball at Potomac High School (Virginia), Potomac High School in Dumfries, Virginia where he was a Collegiate Baseball Top 50 recruit, and was drafted out of high school by the New York Yankees in the 35th round of the 1988 MLB Draft. Choosing instead to play college ball at North Carolina Tar Heels baseball, North Carolina, he played four seasons, helping the team to an Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title and berth in the 1989 College World Series in his freshman year. Buford is a city in Gwinnett and Hall counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 17,144. Lutz is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States, north of Tampa. The northern part of Lutz also makes up a portion of south Pasco County. The population was 23,707 according to the 2020 Census. History Lutz began with the construction of a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad. The area surrounding the depot officially became known as "Lutz" when the U.S. Postal Service authorized a post office. The community was named for W. P. Lutz, who was credited with bringing the railroad to town.
