2021 SAFA Women's League
The 2021 SAFA Women's League was the 2nd season of the fully-professional SAFA Women's League, and the 13th season of nation-wide league competition in women's club football in South Africa. Teams Team changes Joining the 12 teams from the inaugural 2019-20 competition were the two finalists from the 2019 Sasol League National Championship: JVW and Ma-Indies Ladies. No teams were relegated after the previous season per the expansion plan announced at the league launch in 2019; relegation would commence at the end of the 2022 season. The SAFA Women's League, known as Hollywoodbets Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the top flight of women's association football in South Africa. The competition is run by the South African Football Association. Thunderbirds Ladies F.C. is a women's soccer club based in Butterworth, Eastern Cape. The team competes in the SAFA Women's League, the top tier women's football league in South Africa. History In 2017, they won their first Eastern Cape Sasol League which qualified them to the 2017 Sasol League National Championship where they placed third overall.
