2021 Lithuanian Football Cup
The 2021 Lithuanian Football Cup was a single elimination association football tournament which began on 22 May 2021 and ended on 23 October 2021. The winner of the competition earned a spot in the second qualifying round of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League. Teams from A lyga, LFF I lyga and LFF II lyga participated in the tournament this year. Same as last year, lower league teams were not invited in order to shorten the competition due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The "B" teams do not participate in the cup competition. The A lyga teams entered the tournament from the first round this year. FK Panevėžys were the defending champions after winning the final in the previous season against FK Sūduva on penalties. Futbolo klubas Žalgiris, commonly known as FK Žalgiris, Žalgiris Vilnius or simply Žalgiris, is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Vilnius. The club competes in the A Lyga, the top flight of Lithuanian football. The club was founded as Dinamo in 1947. Francis Kyeremeh (born 23 June 1997) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bosnian Premier League club Sarajevo. Career Jagodina As a member of Ghana U20 national team, Kyeremeh arrived to Jagodina in summer 2015, from Brong Ahafo Stars, where he scored several goals for the 2015 season. After he passed the trial period, Jagodina decided to sign him. He scored a goal on his SuperLiga debut, against OFK Beograd on 13 September 2015. Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) is one of the names of the UTC+03:00 time zone, which is 3 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time. Be1 NFA is a football team, which based in Kaunas, Lithuania. History The National Football Academy was established in 2006. In 2012 it was founded for the team, I Lyga. In that season they were in 6th places. After the season heads of NFA decided play in 3rd tier. In 2013 the club competed in II Lyga (3rd tier). After the first half of the season the club was in 3rd position. FK NFA withdrew mid season, their license was taken over by FC Stumbras, who went on to win the first place. The head coach of FC Stumbras was son of the president of LFF (Lithuanian Football Federation). In 2017 FK NFA was re-established again. It played in II Lyga, won the top spot and gained promotion to I Lyga. The season of 2018 was in I Lyga, the second tier of Lithuanian football. FK Šilas Kazlų Rūda
FK Šilas is a Lithuanian association football, football club from the city of Kazlų Rūda. The team competes in the I Lyga, in second tier of Football in Lithuania, Lithuanian football since 2021. In 2022, after a merger, the club was renamed to Marijampolė City, and moved to Marijampolė. History Šilas was founded in 1940 as FK Ąžuolas. The club has been renamed several times in the following years. In 2016 Šilas won I Lyga and hoped for promotion to A Lyga, but after a match fixing scandal were relegated to II Lyga. FK Banga Gargždai
FK Banga Gargždai is a Lithuanian football club from the city of Gargždai. History FK Banga was founded in 1966. During the period from 1966 to 1990, the club was in the Soviet Lithuanian football championship. From 1990, they played in the Lithuanian championship. From 1994 to 2001, they were in the top tier. After the 2001 A Lyga, they were relegated to the I Lyga. The team earned promotion to the A Lyga, Lithuania's top football division, for the 2009 season after FBK Kaunas and Atlantas Klaipėda voluntarily withdrew their participation. Football Club Jonava, previously (1996–2016) known as Football Club Lietava, is a Lithuanian professional association football, football club based in Jonava. Futbolo klubas Neptūnas, commonly known as Neptūnas is a Lithuanian football team from the port city of Klaipėda. History Club was established in 2020. In January 2020 it was officially announced that Basketball Club Neptūnas aims to have a football team. The team successfully licensed and debuted in the II Lyga. With the help of 5-6 professional footballers, wished to win the II Lyga and to be promoted to the I Lyga. Football Club Džiugas Telšiai, commonly known as Džiugas Telšiai, or simply as Džiugas, is a Lithuanian association football club based in Telšiai, that competes in the A Lyga, top tier of Lithuanian football. History On the 2 November 1923, sport association Džiugas was established in Telšiai. During the period between 1923–1946, the club had football, basketball, ice hockey teams and expanded to other sports of the city.
