2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election was held in Kerala on 6 April 2021 to elect 140 members to the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The results were declared on 2 May. The election saw the incumbent Left Democratic Front (LDF) retaining power with 99 seats, 8 more than in the previous election, marking the first time that an alliance won consecutive terms in the state since its 1977 election. The United Democratic Front (UDF) won the remaining 41 seats, 6 less than in the previous election. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was unable to win any seats after losing their lone seat the election. Pinarayi Vijayan became the first Chief Minister of Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full, five-year term in office. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind ( ur, جماعتِ اسلامی ہند, abbreviated as JIH) is an Islamic organisation in India, founded as an offshoot of the Jamaat-e-Islami, which split into separate independent organisations in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh following the Partition of India in 1947. Islam is the ideology of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. 2020 Kerala Local Elections
Elections to local bodies (Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations) in Kerala were held in December 2020. The polling was held in three stages; on 8, 10 and 14 December, with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December. The Left Democratic Front (LDF), who also forms the state government, won in more than half of all gram panchayats, two-thirds of district panchayats and in four out of six municipal corporations. The United Democratic Front (UDF), led by Indian National Congress (INC), improved its vote share nearly by 0.7%, compared to that in the previous 2015 election. Kottayam District
Kottayam (), is one of 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. Kottayam district comprises six municipal towns: Kottayam, Changanassery, Pala, Erattupetta, Ettumanoor, and Vaikom. It is the only district in Kerala that neither borders the Arabian Sea nor any other states. Groupism is a theoretical approach in sociology that posits that conformity to the laws/norms of a group such as family, kinship, race, ethnicity, religion and nationality brings reciprocal benefits such as recognition, right, power and security.
