2021 Idaho Vandals Football Team
The 2021 Idaho Vandals football team represented the University of Idaho as in the Big Sky Conference during the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by ninth-year head coach Paul Petrino, the Vandals were 4–7 (3–5 in Big Sky, ninth), and played their home games on campus at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. Previous season The Vandals finished the 2020–21 season 2–4 to finish in a tie for fifth place. Preseason Polls On July 26, 2021, during the virtual Big Sky Kickoff, the Vandals were predicted to finish eighth in the Big Sky by both the coaches and media. The Big Sky Conference (BSC) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. Member institutions are located in the western United States in the eight states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Four affiliate members each participate in one sport: two from California are football–only participants and two from the Northeast participate only in men's golf. Little Brown Stein
The Little Brown Stein is a rivalry trophy awarded to the winner of the college football game between the University of Idaho Vandals and the University of Montana Grizzlies. The trophy is, as the name implies, a large stein mug with the results of all the games between the two The game was not played for fourteen seasons, from 2004 to 2017, and Montana retained the trophy.
