2021 IMSA Prototype Challenge
The 2021 IMSA Prototype Challenge is the sixteenth season of the IMSA Lites series and its successors, and the fifth under the IMSA Prototype Challenge name. The season started on January 23 at Daytona International Speedway and concludes on November 12 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Calendar The provisional 2021 calendar was released on September 9, 2020. As of April 7, 2021 the calendar remains provisional and subject to change. ;Calendar Changes *All races are now 1 hour 45 minutes in length. *Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport) returned to the calendar after being cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. *Road America, which replaced Mosport in 2020, did not return for 2021. *On April 7, 2021, Watkins Glen International replaced Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on the schedule due to COVID-19 restrictions. 2021 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
The 2021 IMSA SportsCar Championship was the 51st racing season sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) which traces its lineage back to the 1971 IMSA GT Championship. This was also the eighth United SportsCar Championship season and sixth under the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship name. The series began on January 30 with the 24 Hours of Daytona, and ended on November 13 with the Petit Le Mans after 12 races. Road America
Road America is a motorsport road course located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, United States on Wisconsin Highway 67. It has hosted races since the 1950s and currently hosts races in the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IndyCar Series, SCCA Pirelli World Challenge, ASRA, AMA Superbike series, and SCCA Pro Racing's Trans-Am Series. Jarett Andretti (born December 13, 1992) is an American racing driver from Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the son of IndyCar and NASCAR driver John Andretti, and the grandson of Aldo Andretti, the brother of Mario Andretti. Racing career Andretti began his career in sprint car racing in 2010, and moved onto Supermodified racing in 2012. Andretti won the 2016 Lawrenceburg Speedway track championship in his sprint car. Ligier JS P3
The Ligier JS P3 is an LMP3 Le Mans Prototype. It was created by Onroak Automotive, and named in partnership with former French driver Guy Ligier. It was built to meet ACO LMP3 standards, and is active in various LMP3 championships worldwide, such as the European Le Mans Series, IMSA Prototype Challenge, and the Asian Le Mans Series. The car has proven to be immensely popular in the category, with over 100 cars being produced since 2015. It has also proved to be one of the most successful prototypes in the class, with a total of 103 overall wins and class victories from 132 races entered by the car.
