2021 German Masters
The 2021 German Masters (officially the 2021 BildBet German Masters) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 27 to 31 January 2021. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was staged at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. The tournament was the eighth ranking event of the 2020–21 snooker season. It was the 15th edition of the German Masters, first held in 1995 as the 1995 German Open. Shaun Murphy made the sixth maximum break of his career in the first qualifying round against Chen Zifan. The event featured a prize fund of £400,000 with £80,000 given to the winner. It was sponsored for the first time by BildBet, a subsidiary company created by BetVictor in collaboration with the local newspaper Bild. 2020–21 Snooker Season
The 2020–21 snooker season was a professional snooker season with tournaments played from 13 September 2020 to 9 May 2021. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was played almost entirely without a live audience with only the 2021 World Snooker Championship being played in front of a crowd. All snooker tournaments in the season were played in the United Kingdom, due to travel and quarantine restrictions preventing the tour and players from utilising usual venues. Judd Trump won five ranking events during the season, whilst Mark Selby won the 2021 World Snooker Championship, to win his fourth world championship. Mark Davis (born 12 August 1972) is an English professional snooker player from St Leonards in Sussex. He became professional in 1991, and for many years was considered something of a journeyman; however, he vastly improved his game in the late 2000s, and as a result in 2012 made his debut in the top 16. The 2020 World Grand Prix (also known as the Matchroom World Grand Prix 2020) was a professional snooker tournament, that took place from 14 to 20 December 2020 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England. Although the tournament was not sponsored by Cazoo, it was the first of three tournaments that form the Cazoo Cup. Neil Robertson was the defending champion, having won the previous final 10–8 against Graeme Dott. However, Robertson lost 2–4 to Robert Milkins in the first round.
