2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League was the third edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League, an annual women's international volleyball tournament. The 2021 version of VNL was scheduled to start earlier than the previous edition due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in July. The competition was held in between May and June 2021, and the final round took place in Rimini Fiera, Rimini, Italy. United States won their third title in the competition, outlasting Brazil in thrilling four sets on the final. Turkey grabbed the bronze medal after sweeping Japan in three sets. Michelle Bartsch-Hackley from USA claimed her second MVP title of the tournament. Qualification In the 2019 edition sixteen teams qualified for the competition. Twelve of them qualified as core teams which could not face relegation. Other four teams were selected as challenger teams which could be relegated from the tournament. Sheilla Castro
Sheilla Castro de Paula Blassioli (born 1 July 1983 in Belo Horizonte) is a former volleyball player from Brazil, who represented her native country at the 2008 Summer Olympics and in the 2012 Summer Olympics. On both occasions the Brazilian national team won the gold medal. She also played the 2016 Summer Olympics, when Brazil placed fifth. She retired on April 9th 2022. Career She plays as opposite in the Brazilian national team, and in Molico/Osasco. She made her debut for the national team against Colombia. Castro was named "Most Valuable Player" at the 2006 FIVB World Grand Prix in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and at the 2009 FIVB World Grand Prix in Tokyo, Japan, with Brazil winning the gold medal both times. Natália Zilio Pereira (born 4 April 1989) is a Brazilian professional volleyball player who won with the Brazil women's national volleyball team the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career Pereira was part of the Brazilian team who won the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Pereira played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich. Tandara Caixeta
Tandara Alves Caixeta (born 30 October 1988) is a Brazilian professional volleyball player. She plays for the Brazil women's national volleyball team and for Sesc-Rio in the Brazilian Superliga. She competed for Brazil in the 2012 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal. She is tall. She is the daughter of Evaldo Caixeta, a former amateur player with Banco do Brasil Athletic Association. At the age of nine, after trying many different sports, she saw a TV advert and decided to go to a volleyball trial. She won the silver medal while making her debut appearance at the Olympics representing Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
