FIA World Cup For Cross-Country Rallies
The FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies was a rally raid series organised by the FIA, culminating with a champion driver, co-driver, and team; with additional trophies awarded to T2 and T3 drivers & teams. Starting with the 2011 season, the previous FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup was joined with the FIA's International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas to form the new competition. From the beginning of the 2019 season the cup was once again split, with the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Bajas being held alongside the competition for "baja" style rally raids. From 2022, the cup merged with the FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship to become the World Rally-Raid Championship. Vaidotas Žala (born ) is a Lithuanian rally and rally-raid driver. Žala won the Lithuanian Rally Champion winning the title in 2019 and 2020, both when driving for Agrorodeo racing team with Škoda Fabia R5. In addition to participating in various classic rally events Žala has been participating in Dakar Rally since 2016 with his start in 2021 being his 6th consecutive start at the Rally-raid marathon. Laia Sanz Pla-Giribert (born 11 December 1985), also known as Laia Sanz, is a Spanish sportswoman. She is a fourteen-time Women's Trial World Champion and ten-time Women's Trial European Champion in outdoor motorcycle trials. Timo Gottschalk (born August 28, 1974 in Neuruppin) is a German rally co-driver, most notable for being on the winning team of the 2011 Dakar Rally alongside Nasser Al-Attiyah. Career Gottschalk made his debut in the Dakar Rally as navigator to compatriot Dieter Depping in the truck category in 2007, the pair finishing 26th.
