2021 FC Astana Season
The 2021 FC Astana season was the thirteenth successive season that Astana played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. The finished the season 2nd, behind Tobol, reached the Semifinals of the Kazakhstan Cup and were knocked out of the Europa Conference League by KuPS at the Third Qualifying Round stage. Season events On 5 February, Astana sold Pieros Sotiriou to Ludogorets Razgrad, whilst Rúnar Már Sigurjónsson left Astana on 8 February. On 15 February, Astana announced the signing of Varazdat Haroyan from Tambov. Three days later, Astana announced the signing of Semir Smajlagić from ND Gorica after he impressed on trial. On 21 February, Astana announced the signing of Aleksandr Zarutskiy from Kaisar. Two days later, 23 February, Astana announced the return of Roman Murtazayev from Tobol. Astana Football Club ( kk, Astana Futbol Kluby) is a professional football club based in Astana. They play in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest level of Kazakh football. The club's home ground is the 30,254-seat Astana Arena stadium. The club colours, reflected in their badge and kit, are sky blue and yellow. Founded as ''Lokomotiv Astana'' in 2009, the club changed its name to Astana in 2011. Nogometno društvo Gorica, commonly referred to as ND Gorica or simply Gorica, is a Slovenian football club based in the town of Nova Gorica. Semir Smajlagić (born 18 September 1998) is a Bosnian footballer who plays as a forward for Slovenian PrvaLiga club Radnički Niš. Career Club career Before the second half of 2017/18, Smajlagić signed for Slovenian side Gorica (Slovenia) after almost signing for St. Gallen in Switzerland and playing for the youth academy of FK Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina's most successful club, where he received interest from Italy. FC Tambov
FC Tambov (russian: ФК Тамбов) was a Russian football team from Tambov. It last played in the Russian Premier League, having won promotion to the top division of Russian football in 2019, before dissolving in 2021. History FC Tambov started out on the professional level in the third-tier Russian Professional Football League in the 2013–14 season. Despite coming in last in their zone in their first professional season, the team was not relegated, as a team that came ahead of them in the table dropped out for financial reasons. Varazdat Haroyan
Varazdat Haroyan ( hy, Վարազդատ Հարոյան, born on 24 August 1992) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta and the Armenia national team. Club career Patani and Pyunik Yerevan Varazdat Haroyan was born in Yerevan, and started football at the football school Pyunik Yerevan. In 2008, he played for Patani, for whom he made 17 appearances. Rúnar Már Sigurlaugarson Sigurjónsson (born 18 June 1990) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga I club FC Voluntari. He started out his senior career at local team Tindastóll, after which he went on to compete professionally in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Romania. Pieros Sotiriou ( el, Πιέρος Σωτηρίου; born on January 13, 1993) is a Greek Cypriot professional footballer who plays as a striker for Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan and the Cyprus national team.
