2021 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2021 European Amateur Team Championship took place 6–10 July at PGA Catalunya in Spain. It was the 38th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. The event was originally intended to be played at Vasatorp Golf Club in Sweden but was moved because of travel restriction concerns. Format Each team consisted of six players. On the first two days each player played 18 holes of stroke play each day. The lowest five scores from each team’s six players counted to the team total each day. The eight best teams formed flight A, in knock-out match-play over the following three days. The teams were seeded based on their positions after the stroke play. The first placed team was drawn to play the quarter final against the eight placed team, the second against the seventh, the third against the sixth and the fourth against the fifth. Pontus Nyholm
Lars Pontus Nyholm (born 10 February 1998) is a Swedish professional golfer. He joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022 and was runner-up at the Veritex Bank Championship. As an amateur, he was part of the European team winning the 2016 Jacques Léglise Trophy and the Swedish team winning the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship. He played in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup. David Andreas Nyfjäll (born 26 January 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. As an amateur, he was part of the teams winning the 2017 Jacques Léglise Trophy, the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship and the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup. Amateur career Nyfjäll won his first international title at the 2013 Finnish Junior International Championship and was a semifinalist at the 2016 Boys Amateur Championship at Muirfield in Scotland. Ludvig Noa Åberg (born 31 October 1999) is a Swedish amateur golfer. He rose to number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in September 2022, after becoming number one in the European Amateur Golf Ranking in April 2021. Matthias Schmid (born 18 November 1997) is a German professional golfer. He won the European Amateur in both 2019 and 2020 and was the leading amateur at the 2021 Open Championship. Christoffer Bring (born 17 November 1998) is a Danish professional golfer and European Tour player. He had a successful amateur career, winning both the 2021 European Amateur and the 2021 European Amateur Team Championship.
