2021 Dally M Awards
The 2021 Dally M Awards were presented over two nights at the Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane on the 20th and 27th September 2021. The first night highlighted the minor awards featured in the Dally M Awards as well as building anticipation for the second night which presented the major awards and the Dally M Medal. They are the official annual awards of the National Rugby League and are named after Dally Messenger. Howard Smith Wharves
Howard Smith Wharves is a heritage-listed wharf on the Brisbane River at Boundary Street, Brisbane City and Fortitude Valley, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was built from to 1940s circa. It is also known as Brisbane Central Wharves. The site is one of the most culturally and historically significant riverfront locations in Brisbane. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 4 February 1997. In 2009, Brisbane City Council proposed an extensive commercial development of the site that includes hotel, sport and entertainment facilities in new or refurbished old buildings. This plan was rejected by the local community which resulted in a revised plan incorporating greater public space and less commercial development. The revised plan was then rejected by the Queensland Government over concerns with flooding. In 2013, Brisbane City Council again requested proposals from interested parties to redevelop the site. William Kennedy (born 18 April 1997) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League (NRL). Ronaldo Mulitalo (born 17 November 1999) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League (NRL). 2021 NRL Grand Final
The 2021 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2021 National Rugby League season in Australia. It was contested between the Penrith Panthers and the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Sunday 3 October at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Penrith won the match 14–12 to claim their third premiership title, and their first since 2003. Penrith co-captain and halfback Nathan Cleary was awarded the Clive Churchill Medal as the official man of the match. The event was held in Brisbane for the first time in the competition's history due to an ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in New South Wales which prompted the NRL to relocate it from Stadium Australia in Sydney, where every NRL Grand Final since 1999 had been hosted. Peter Frilingos
Peter Frilingos (1944–2004) was a sports journalist and commentator, best known for his work as a rugby league writer. His reporting methods and integrity came under severe scrutiny during the Super League war. While he originally supported the ARL, he began openly endorsing Super League after a closed door meeting with News Limited management. Isaiah Papali'i (born 20 September 1998) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Wests Tigers in the NRL. He has played for both Samoa and New Zealand at international level. He previously played for the New Zealand Warriors and the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League. Ken Irvine
Kenneth John Irvine (5 March 1940 – 22 December 1990), also nicknamed "Mongo", was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Craig Bellamy (born 3 October 1959) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach who is the head coach of the Melbourne Storm in the NRL, and a former professional rugby league footballer. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition.
