2021 Caribbean Premier League
The 2021 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) was the ninth season of the Caribbean Premier League, the domestic Twenty20 cricket league that was played in the West Indies. The tournament was held from 26 August to 15 September 2021, with all the matches took placed in Saint Kitts and Nevis. A players' draft was held on 28 May 2021. On 14 July 2021, Cricket West Indies confirmed the fixtures for the tournament. The Trinbago Knight Riders were the defending champions. Prior to the start of the tournament, two of the franchise teams were renamed. The Barbados Tridents became the Barbados Royals, and the St Lucia Zouks became the Saint Lucia Kings. In the final, the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots beat the Saint Lucia Kings by three wickets to win their first CPL title. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. This is much shorter than previous forms of the game, and is closer to the timespan of other popular team sports. Shai Diego Hope (born 10 November 1993) is a Barbadian cricketer, who plays international cricket for the West Indies cricket team. He is regarded as one of the best ODI batsmen in the contemporary world. At the age of 21, he was called into the West Indies squad after he scored a double century against the Windwards Islands at the Kensington Oval on the last day of the 2014–15 Regional Four Day Competition. Glenn Phillips (cricketer)
Glenn Dominic Phillips (born 6 December 1996) is a New Zealand cricketer, born in South Africa, who represents the New Zealand national cricket team and plays for Otago domestically. Smit Patel
Smit Kamleshbhai Patel (born 16 May 1993) is a former Indian cricketer. Patel plays as a wicketkeeper, represented the India Under-19 cricket team World Cup winning squad in 2012, and has also played for the Gujarat cricket team. He scored unbeaten 62 runs and helped to secured in India's to Under-19s World Cup glory at Tony Ireland Stadium. Ashley Renaldo Nurse (born 22 December 1988) is a West Indian cricketer who plays first-class, List A and Twenty20 cricket for Barbados. He is a right-arm off-break bowler and a right-handed batsman. Azam Khan (cricketer, Born 1998)
Azam Khan ( Sindhi and ur, اعظم خان; born 10 August 1998) is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for Islamabad United and Sindh. He made his international debut for the Pakistan cricket team in July 2021. Known as a power-hitter, he considers West Indies player Chris Gayle to be his batting role-model. Narangoda Liyanaarachchige Thisara Chirantha Perera ( si, තිසර පෙරේරා; born 3 April 1989), popularly as Thisara Perera, is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer who played all formats for the national team. He also captained the team in limited-overs formats. Mohammad Amir ( ur, ; born 13 April 1992) is a Pakistani cricketer and bowler for the Pakistan national cricket team. He is playing as a left-arm fast-medium bowler and uses his left hand when batting. Nyeem Young (born 22 September 2000) is a West Indian cricketer. Young was named in the West Indies' squads for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
