Mid-American Conference
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I collegiate athletic conference with a membership base in the Great Lakes region that stretches from Western New York to Illinois. DeKalb, Illinois
DeKalb ( ) is a city in DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 43,862 according to the 2010 census, up from 39,018 at the 2000 census. The 2021 Northern Illinois Huskies football team represented Northern Illinois University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies were led by third-year head coach Thomas Hammock and played their home games at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Illinois as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). With a win over Buffalo on November 17, the Huskies clinched the West division championship and a place in the MAC Championship Game. The Anniversary Award is a traveling trophy awarded to the winner of the annual college football game between the Bowling Green Falcons of Bowling Green State University and the Kent State Golden Flashes of Kent State University. Kent is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the largest city in Portage County. It is located along the Cuyahoga River in Northeast Ohio on the western edge of the county. Dix Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kent, Ohio, United States. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Kent State Golden Flashes football team.
