2021 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament
The 2021 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament will be held at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio from May 27 through May 30. The event, held at the end of the conference regular season, determines the champion of the Big East Conference for the 2021 season. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. Format and seeding The tournament will use a double-elimination format and feature the top four finishers of the Big East's eight teams. They will be seeded by conference winning percentage. 2021 UConn Huskies Baseball Team
The 2021 UConn Huskies baseball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Huskies played their home games at Elliot Ballpark, their brand new stadium on campus in Storrs, Connecticut. The team is coached by Jim Penders, in his 18th season at UConn. The Huskies played their first season back in the Big East Conference, having departed the American Athletic Conference. They finished in first place with a 13–4 record, won the 2021 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament, Big East tournament for the 4th time in program history, and made their 22nd appearance in an 2021 NCAA Division I baseball tournament#Starkville Super Regional, NCAA Regional. Jim Penders
James F. Penders is the coach of the UConn Huskies baseball team. Penders began his time with the Huskies in 1991 as a player on the varsity team. In his senior year, he was named a co-captain and helped to lead the Huskies to victory in the 1994 Big East Conference baseball tournament. Penders was named an assistant coach of the Huskies in 1997 and became head coach after the 2003 season. Playing years Penders was a co-captain in 1994. The Huskies finished with a 26–19 record and won the Big East Tournament before losing to 1994 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team, Georgia Tech and in the 1994 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament#Midwest II Regional at Wichita, KS, NCAA Regionals and being eliminated. Mason is a city in southwestern Warren County, Ohio, United States, approximately north of downtown Cincinnati. As of the 2020 census, Mason's population was 34,792. The Big East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I in ten men's sports and twelve women's sports. Headquartered in New York City, the eleven full-member schools are primarily located in Northeast and Midwest metropolitan areas.
