2020–21 Women's National Cricket League Season
The 2020–21 Women's National Cricket League season was the 25th season of the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL), the women's domestic limited overs cricket competition in Australia. The tournament started on 30 January 2021 and finished on 27 March 2021. Defending champions Western Australia finished bottom of the ladder, while 20-time winners New South Wales Breakers missed out on the final for the first time. Victoria finished top of the ladder and met Queensland Fire in the final, where the latter won by 112 runs to secure their first WNCL title. Cricket Australia (CA), formerly known as the Australian Cricket Board (ACB), is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia. It was originally formed in 1905 as the 'Australian Board of Control for International Cricket'. It is incorporated as an Australian Public Company, limited by guarantee. Nicola Carey
Nicola Jane Carey (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the national cricket team as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm medium pace. At the domestic level, she plays in the Women's National Cricket League for Tasmania and in the Women's Big Bash League for the Hobart Hurricanes. Until 2019, she played in those two competitions for the New South Wales Breakers and the Sydney Thunder, respectively. Career Carey was a member of the victorious Southern Stars squad that won the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 title in Sri Lanka. Carey was part of two ICC World Twenty20 in 2012 and in 2016. Junction Oval
Junction Oval (also known as the St Kilda Cricket Ground, or the CitiPower Centre due to sponsorship reasons) is a historic sports ground in the suburb of St Kilda in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The oval's location near the St Kilda Junction gave rise to its name. It is located approximately five kilometres south from the centre of Melbourne and is in the southernmost part of the large Albert Park sporting precinct. The oval is the administrative headquarters of Cricket Victoria, and was redeveloped between 2015 and 2018 for that purpose. Lauren Smith (cricketer)
Lauren Georgia Smith (born 6 October 1996) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-arm off break bowler and right-handed batter. Smith was selected to play her first Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) match for the New South Wales Breakers at the age of 18. In her debut WNCL match she took four wickets for 36 runs in her ten overs. Smith previously played for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League before being recruited to play for the Sydney Thunder ahead of the 2020–21 season. Sophie Grace Molineux (born 17 January 1998) is an Australian cricketer from Bairnsdale, Victoria. A left-arm orthodox bowling all-rounder, Molineux has been a member of the national women's team since 2018. Samantha Marie Betts (born 6 February 1996) is an Australian cricketer who plays for South Australia. A native of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Betts won selection on the Scorpions' rookie list as a 17-year old schoolgirl for the 2012–13 season, after being spotted by former Australian international player Shelley Nitschke. She had previously done "a fair bit of training and stuff with the guys at the West Broken Hill Cricket Club", and had played in a women's competition in Adelaide. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Megan Schutt (born 15 January 1993) is an Australian cricketer who has played for the national team as a medium-fast bowler since 2012. Domestically, she plays for the South Australian Scorpions, for whom she debuted in 2009, and, since 2015, the Adelaide Strikers. Naomi Elizabeth Stalenberg (born 18 April 1994) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. Sasha Moloney
Sasha Kate Moloney (born 14 June 1992) is an Australian cricketer who plays as a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler for Tasmanian Tigers and Melbourne Stars. From May to August 2015, she played for Typhoons in Ireland's inaugural Women's Super 3s, a competition involving both 50 over and T20 matches. She has also played cricket in the Netherlands.
