2020–21 Winnipeg Jets Season
The 2020–21 Winnipeg Jets season was the 22nd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997, and the tenth in Winnipeg, since the franchise relocated from Atlanta prior to the start of the 2011–12 NHL season. Due to the Canada–U.S. border restrictions brought in as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jets were re-aligned with the other six Canadian franchises into the newly-formed North Division. The league's 56 game season was played entirely within the new divisions, meaning that Winnipeg and the other Canadian teams played an all-Canadian schedule for the 2020–21 regular season as well as the first two rounds of the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs. North Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's North Division (branded as Scotia NHL North Division for sponsorship reasons) was one of the four divisions used by the NHL for the 2020–21 NHL season. This division was organized in 2020 as the result of the travel restrictions that had been in place since March 2020 between the Canada–United States border due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The entirety of the 2020–21 regular season and first two rounds of the playoffs were played between these seven teams. Of the four divisions in 2020–21, the North Division was the only one with a name not previously used by the NHL. The 2020–21 Vancouver Canucks season was the 51st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. Due to the Canada–United States border restrictions brought in as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canucks were re-aligned with the other six Canadian franchises into the newly-formed North Division. The 2020–21 Ottawa Senators season was the 29th season of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Senators finished the season out of the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. Due to the Canada–U.S. border restrictions brought in as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NHL realigned its divisions.
