2020–21 Ukrainian Premier League
The 2020–21 Ukrainian Premier League season was the 30th top-level football club competition since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the 13th since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. The defending champion was the 13-times winner Shakhtar Donetsk. On 25 April 2021, Dynamo Kyiv won the record 16th title with three matches remaining, after the victory over Inhulets Petrove in the Round 23 home game. The season started on 21 August 2020 and was initially set to end on 15 May 2021. On 7 April 2021 it was announced that most of clubs voted to end competitions a week early on 9 May 2021. Summary This season was the first since the 2015–16, when the league consisted of double round-robin tournament, without the second stage and division to the two groups. COVID-19 Pandemic In Ukraine
The COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus was confirmed to have spread to Ukraine when the country's first case was confirmed to be hospitalized in Chernivtsi Oblast on 3 March 2020, a man who had travelled from Italy to Romania by plane and then arrived in Ukraine by car. An emergency was declared on 20 March 2020 in Kyiv Oblast, Chernivtsi Oblast, Zhytomyr Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, and the city of Kyiv. New infections and deaths started to break records by late October 2021. By then, a total of 2.8 million coronavirus cases and 64,936 COVID-19 related deaths had occurred in Ukraine. Avanhard Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. The stadium holds 12,000 people. The stadium is certified to hold matches of the national football team of Ukraine. History The stadium was built in 1952, its architects are Yevhen Valts, Emil Egresi and Sandor Kavac. The size of the field is 104X68 m. On 29 April 1992, the Ukrainian national football team played its first international game after independence against Hungary at Avanhard Stadium lost by a score of 1–3. Football Club Desna Chernihiv ( uk, ФК «Десна» Чернігів) is a Ukrainian football club based in Chernihiv. The original name of the club was "Avanhard" (FC Avanhard Chernihiv) during its first year of existence as part of a republican Avanhard sports society. FC Mynai or FC Minaj ( uk, Футбольний клуб «Минай», Futbolnyi klub Mynai) is a Ukrainian football club from Mynai, a suburb of Uzhhorod in the Zakarpattia Oblast. 2019–20 Ukrainian First League
The 2019–20 Ukrainian First League is the 29th since its establishment. The competition began on 27 July 2019 with eight matches of Round 1, and went into recess for a winter break which started after the completion of Round 19 on 24 November 2019. The competition was to be resumed on 22 March 2020 and was expected to end 23 May 2020. However, on 17 March 2020 the Ukrainian Association of Football adopted the decision to pause all football competitions in the country since 18 March 2020 for unspecified period of time (until adoption of the next decision to resume all football events) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 11 June 2020, the PFL Extraordinary Conference took the decision to resume the competition starting from 24 June with the conclusion on 11 August 2020. 2015–16 Ukrainian Premier League
The 2015–16 Ukrainian Premier League season is the 25th top-level football competitions since the fall of the Soviet Union and the eighth since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. Because of sponsorship the league changed its title for 2015–16 season to League Parimatch. The competition commenced on 17 July when Metalurh Zaporizhya hosted Zorya Luhansk in Zaporizhzhia. The first sixteen rounds were played before the winter break which began 6 December 2015; the competition resumed on 5 March 2016. The season concluded on 15 May 2016.
