UMass Minutemen Basketball
The UMass Minutemen basketball team represents the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. Bashir Mason (born February 11, 1984) is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at Saint Peter's University. He was previously an assistant coach at Marist College in 2008, and an assistant coach at Wagner College in 2010. Mason played high school basketball St. Benedict's Preparatory School, then joined then head coach Bruiser Flint to play college basketball at Drexel University. He was a four-year starter for the Dragons, scoring over 1,000 points and handing out 471 assists as a point guard. He was a CAA all-defensive player every season, as well as the CAA's defensive player of the year as a freshman. Mason was hired by Wagner, in March 2012, as their 18th men's head basketball coach. Glenn Braica (born September 16, 1964) is the men's basketball head coach at St. Francis College since 2010. Braica was born in Brooklyn, New York and is an alumnus of Bishop Ford High School and Queens College. Braica began his head coaching career at St. Francis College in 2010 and had 22 years of coaching experience at the time split between New York City Tech, St. Francis and St. John's as an assistant coach.
