The 2020–21 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2020–21 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, is the 122nd season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Ferencváros were the defending champions. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic On 16 August 2020, the match between Puskás Akadémia FC and Budapest Honvéd FC were postponed due to the fact that one player was tested positive for coronavirus. Teams Debrecen and Kaposvár finished the 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I in the last two places and thus were relegated to NB II division. The two relegated teams were replaced with the top two teams in 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság II, champion MTK and runner-up Budafok, each having the required licence for top-division play. Nemzeti Bajnokság I
The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, "National Championship"), also known as NB I, is the top level of the Hungarian football league system. The league is officially named OTP Bank Liga after its title sponsor OTP Bank. UEFA currently ranks the league 28th in Europe. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the NB2. The 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság II (also known as 2019–20 Merkantil Bank Liga) is Hungary's 69th season of the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second tier of the Hungarian football league system. On 29 July 2019, it was announced that Balmazújváros did not receive license from the Hungarian Football Federation. On 29 August 2019 it was confirmed that Balmazújváros's license was suspended. Therefore, the 2019-20 Nemzeti Bajnokság would continue with 19 teams only. On 4 May 2020 season was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bozsik Aréna
Bozsik Aréna is a multi-purpose stadium in Budapest, Hungary. The stadium opened on 24 July 2021 and it was renamed after the Budapest Honvéd FC and Hungary national football team, Hungary footballer József Bozsik (1925–1978). It is used for association football, football matches and it is the home stadium of Nemzeti Bajnokság I club Budapest Honvéd FC. History Planning On 20 November 2014, it was revealed that the reconstruction of Bozsik Aréna is going to start in 2015 and it will be finished in 2016. The stadium is the property of the Hungary, Hungarian state, namely the National Sportcentre. The capacity of the new stadium will be 9,000 and there will be 900 VIP seats, 350 skyboxes, and 100 square metre mixed zone for the press. Óbuda Group was commissioned to plan the new stadium. Kispest
Kispest (lit. ''Little Pest'') is the 19th (XIX) district of Budapest, Hungary. It lies south-southeast of the historical Pest city. It was founded in 1871 on rural land as a village at the borderline of Pest, so it was named Kispest. History From 1880 to 1990 Kispest's population increased from 1820 to 72,838. Name The southern suburb of Pest was named after King Francis I on 4 December 1792 when he was crowned king of Hungary. History The development of Ferencváros began in the late 18th century. MOL Aréna Sóstó (''MOL Aréna Salt Lake'') is a multi-purpose stadium in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, primarily used for football matches. DVTK Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Miskolc, Hungary. It is the playing field of the local football association and it is the home of Diósgyőri VTK. History Planning On 7 October 2013, it was announced that a UEFA stadium categories, UEFA stadium category C stadium will be built in "British-style" in Miskolc. 4,5 billion Hungarian forint, HUF will be guaranteed for the construction by the Hungarian government. Diósgyőr (Hungarian: dioːʒɟøːr is a historical town in Hungary, today it is a part of Miskolc. The medieval castle in Diósgyőr was a favourite holiday residence of Hungarian kings and queens; today it is a popular tourist attraction. The city part has a heavy industrial background.
