2020–21 National Cricket League
The 2020–21 National Cricket League is the twenty-second edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 22 March 2021, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) using the tournament as preparation for Bangladeshi cricket team in Sri Lanka in 2020–21, Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka in April 2021. The eight teams taking part were placed into two tiers, with the tournament scheduled to end on 29 April 2021. Khulna Division cricket team, Khulna Division are the defending champions. The opening round of matches saw Chittagong Division cricket team, Chittagong Division win only their third first-class match in a period of seven years, beating Rajshahi Division cricket team, Rajshahi Division by 88 runs. Bangladesh Cricket Board
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (; abbreviated as BCB), formerly known as Bangladesh Cricket Control Board, is the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. It became an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1977, and a List of International Cricket Council members#Full Members, full member on 26 June 2000. Alauddin Babu
Alauddin Babu (born 5 December 1991) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Under-19s career Babu bowls right-arm fast bowler who can bat in middle-order was included in the Bangladesh squad for the 2010 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. He took a four-wicket haul in the first four-day match against England Under-19s in July 2009. Mohammad Saif Hassan (; born 30 October 1998) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He made his international debut for the Bangladesh cricket team during tour to Pakistan in February 2020. Hassan's mother's family is from Sri Lanka. Rangpur Division Cricket Team
The Rangpur Division cricket team is a Bangladeshi first-class team representing the Rangpur Division, the northernmost of the seven administrative regions in Bangladesh. The team competes in the National Cricket League (NCL). Their home venue is the Rangpur Cricket Garden in Rangpur City. Rangpur are a recent addition to the NCL, having joined in 2011–12, and won their first title in 2014–15. The equivalent team in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the Rangpur Riders. Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat () (born 16 October 1976), also known as Sharfuddoula Saikat, is an international cricket umpire and a former first-class player from Bangladesh. He is the first Bangladeshi umpire to be included in the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires in March 2024. He also officiated in 100 matches in men's international cricket including ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2023. Early life and playing career Saikat was a student of Rajshahi University School. Imran Parvez (born 28 December 1977, in Rajshahi) is a Bangladeshi former first-class cricketer active 2000–2004, who is also known by his nickname 'Ripon'. After retiring from cricket he became an umpire and officates matches domestic cricket. Career Playing career He made his debut for Rajshahi Division in 2000/01, playing for them until 2003/04.
