The Keşla 2020–21 season was Keşla's twentieth season in the Azerbaijan Premier League. Season events On 8 August, Tarlan Ahmedov left the club after his contract expired, with Yunis Huseynov being appointed as his replacement on 16 August. On 24 January, Yunis Huseynov resigned as manager, with Sanan Gurbanov being appointed as the clubs new manager on 25 January. Transfers On 22 June, Tural Akhundov signed for Keşla from Neftçi. On 24 June, Shahriyar Aliyev joined Keşla from Sumgayit. On 30 June, Javid Imamverdiyev signed for Keşla from Sabah. On 8 July, Keşla announced the signing of Rahman Hajiyev on a season-long loan deal from Neftçi. On 21 July, Turan Valizade also joined Keşla on a season-long loan deal from Neftçi. Shamakhi FK ( az, Şamaxı Futbol Klubu, ) is an Azerbaijani professional football club based in Shamakhi, that currently competes in the Azerbaijan Premier League. The club has won the Premier League title twice. History Early years (1997–2004) The club has been functioning since 1997, initially as an amateur side that shared its name with Khazar University, the first private university in Azerbaijan, which founded the club. In 1999, Khazar University began to play in the Azerbaijan Premier League, finishing eleventh. In subsequent years, Inter finished in 7th place (2000/01 season) and 3rd place (2003–04 season). In the 2003–04 season the team finished in fourth place, thereby qualifying for the UEFA Intertoto Cup for the first time. Sabah Football Club ( az, Sabah Futbol Klubu) is an Azerbaijani professional football club based in Masazır. The team plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, their top tier of Azerbaijani football. History Sabah were formed on 8 September 2017, joining the Azerbaijan First Division for the 2017–18 season, in which they finished 5th. After the four teams above them in the league failed or decline promotion, Sabah were granted a license to participate in Azerbaijan Premier League on 12 May 2018. Sabah's first game in the Azerbaijan Premier League was against Keşla on 12 August 2018, a game they won 1-0 thanks to a Marko Dević goal. Anatole Bertrand Abang (born 6 July 1996) is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Al Bataeh Club. Rail Malikov ( az, Rail Məlikov; born 18 December 1985) is an Azerbaijani football defender who plays for Keşla. Career Malikov was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. In the summer of 2012, Malikov left Neftchi Baku for TFF First League side Denizlispor. Malikov made 25 appearances for Denizlispor in his first, and only season with the club. Gabala On 2 July 2013, Malikov returned to the Azerbaijan Premier League to sign a one-year contract with Gabala. Malikov made his debut for Gabala on 2 August 2013 against Baku, a game Gabala won 2–1.
