The 2020–21 season was the 113th season of Fleetwood Town and the seventh consecutive season in League One, following their play-off semi-final defeat to Wycombe Wanderers during the previous season. Along with League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. Background During the previous campaign, Fleetwood finished 6th in the incomplete League One season and qualified for the play-offs. However, they were eliminated 6–3 on aggregate in the semi-finals by Wycombe Wanderers. Manager Joey Barton retained his role as manager from the previous season. Fleetwood Town F
Fleetwood is a coastal town in the Borough of Wyre in Lancashire, England, at the northwest corner of the Fylde. It had a population of 25,939 at the 2011 census. Fleetwood acquired its modern character in the 1830s, when the principal landowner Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood, High Sheriff and MP, conceived an ambitious plan to re-develop the town to make it a busy seaport and railway spur. He commissioned the Victorian architect Decimus Burton to design a number of substantial civic buildings, including two lighthouses. Hesketh-Fleetwood's transport terminus schemes failed to materialise. The town expanded greatly in the first half of the 20th century with the growth of the fishing industry, and passenger ferries to the Isle of Man, to become a deep-sea fishing port. Samuel Joseph Finley (born 4 August 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bristol Rovers. He will become a free agent on 30 June 2024. Career Finley was first picked up as a youth by Everton, where he stayed until he was 16. Finley would then play for non-league clubs Southport and Warrington, before being released by the latter. Jayson William Leutwiler (born 25 April 1989) is a professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for National League club Oldham Athletic and the Canada national team. Mark James Duffy (born 7 October 1985) is an English football coach and former player who was most recently head coach for club Macclesfield.
